About Us

ABOUT US:

Hi friends! Thank you so much for stopping by. Denise and Charles Boehmke (Bem-Key) here. We met in Nashville, TN in 2008 and were married in 2019. We wouldn’t say it’s been the fairy tale that either of us hopeless romantics dreamt of, but we know one thing for sure: it was God's divine and unique plan to bring us together. There’s just no doubt about that. It has been a covenant love story of commitment and unspeakable blessings.

About us… we are cat people. Period. We have 6 cats. 4 are rescues and the other 2 are full-bred Maine Coons (world's best cat breed). We are a blended family. Charles has a beautiful daughter that Denise is a bonus mom to. We are former foster parents and have such a heart for that community. Charles is a firefighter and Denise works from home. We live in a sweet little lake town just north of Nashville, TN. We love traveling, exploring small towns, and antique shopping. We are dabbling in gardening and raising chickens on our little slice of land. Most of all, we love Jesus, and we are just so grateful for this life He has blessed us with.

There is an underlying thread that has been woven into both of our lives, and that is taking negative circumstances and finding the good in them. This can be seen as early as Denise losing her father to suicide as a child. She is now sharing that story in hopes that others will find peace and keep fighting another day. A few years ago, God placed a challenging situation in our lives and called us to be peacemakers. If you know anything about the peacemaking business, you know it ain't for the faint of heart. Can we get an amen? Instead of lashing out, seeking revenge, and continuing the unhealthy pattern of our abusers, we chose to learn from it, lead with love, and use this as a way to advance His kingdom. We founded Concerned Citizens Co. because of an attack against our character and false witness. We chose to take a situation the enemy meant to destroy us with and create something impactful and meaningful from it. We believe that God has the power to redeem and repurpose even the darkest moments of our lives. By embracing what was meant to divide us, we are able to find strength, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose. Concerned Citizens Co. serves as a symbol of this transformation, embracing the beauty that can emerge from adversity and reminding others that their past does not define their future.

Thank you again for stopping by and supporting this small business God gave us. Please feel free to reach out anytime and say hello! We would absolutely love to hear from you!
